Bluelight

Education

Where dentistry learns to cure.

Light curing is the least-taught critical skill in dentistry. Bluelight is how the profession, dentists, DSOs, manufacturers, and schools, learns the science, the technique, and how to prove it's working.

Why education?

We teach because the instrument alone isn't enough.

Dental school teaches you prep, bonding, finishing. It teaches you to use the light for a few minutes. Bluelight teaches the science of what happens in those few seconds, and what goes wrong when you don't.

Every page of the curriculum starts from the same premise: a reading on a screen is only useful if the clinician knows what to do with it. The measurement and the teaching ship together.

The curriculum

Six tracks. One throughline.

Each track is a stack of technical briefs, walkthrough videos, and, where it fits, an interactive tool. Designed for working clinicians, faculty, and R&D teams who want to actually understand the step that activates every restoration.

TRACK / 01

Curing Fundamentals

Light models, tip diameter, irradiance, and distance from the restoration: the variables every other lesson is built on.

Technical briefs + interactive demos
TRACK / 02

The Reciprocity Principle

Why “more power” doesn't always mean “faster cure”, and where the physics stops cooperating.

Brief + walkthrough video
TRACK / 03

Material-Specific Cure Times

Using IFU specs plus your measured irradiance to set defensible per-material exposure times.

Calculator + technical briefs
TRACK / 04

Under-Curing Failure Pathways

What actually happens biologically and mechanically when a restoration is undercured, and how to spot the pattern.

Brief + research library
TRACK / 05

Thermal Safety & High-Power Curing

Managing heat during long cycles. PLS (pulse) technology, the heat penalty, and when to stop.

Brief + clinical guidance
TRACK / 06

Reference-Grade vs Chairside Measurement

When a chairside radiometer is enough, and when only a spectrometer-class instrument will do.

Brief + research

Formats

Three formats, one curriculum.

The same material, taught in the format that matches how you learn: a 6-minute read between patients, a 27-minute walkthrough on a slow afternoon, or a calculator you hand to a new hire.

MARC platform measurement under controlled lab conditions.

For dental schools

Make light curing a measurable competency, not a footnote.

MARC-PS is in use at 25% of top dental schools and 50+ institutions worldwide, cited in 200+ peer-reviewed publications. It turns the least-taught critical skill in dentistry into one a faculty member can grade.

Pre-training student failure rates average 37.5%. After a single MARC-PS session, that drops to 2.5%: the kind of curriculum outcome deans build budget around.

Faculty

The clinicians and researchers shaping the curriculum.

Bluelight's faculty roster is being formalized through 2026. We're naming the named-expert contributors, advisors, and reviewers behind each track.

200+ peer-reviewed publications on light curing.

Searchable, citable, organized by topic. The science the rest of the curriculum is built on, not a marketing reading list.

Bring this curriculum to your team.

Whether you're a single practice, a DSO, a manufacturer, or a dental school, we'll tailor a learning path to the work your team actually does.
