Integrating sphere, 16 mm port
The primary enhancement: an integrating sphere with a 16 mm diameter light-collection port, with a new box top milled specifically for the upgraded system.
Products / MARC-LC / Upgrade
The Resin Calibrator built the measurement habits your lab publishes with. The MARC Light Collector is its successor - and your RC upgrades to it: same platform, same bench footprint, with an integrating sphere, wider spectral reach, and current software. Bluelight continues to support RC owners either way.
What the upgrade includes
The upgrade converts your Resin Calibrator into a MARC Light Collector: total-flux collection geometry consistent with the radiometric test methods in ISO 10650:2026, without giving up the transmission measurements your methods already rely on.
The primary enhancement: an integrating sphere with a 16 mm diameter light-collection port, with a new box top milled specifically for the upgraded system.
A set of nine thin anodized-aluminium apertures from 3 mm to 11 mm, for controlled variation of the light-collection area. Custom apertures can be fabricated for specific research needs.
A new version of the MARC software with enhanced features, delivered on a new laptop.
The bottom sensor for measuring light transmitted through materials remains available - existing functionality is preserved.
Your data
Historical RC datasets do not migrate into the LC software. We'd rather you know that before you order than discover it on day one.
What does carry forward is the measurement itself: the upgraded instrument can generate the same measurements your RC produced, and those should be comparable with your earlier work. The bottom transmission sensor - the heart of most published RC methods - is preserved.
Planning a study across the transition? Talk to the research team about your protocol before the upgrade is scheduled.
The published record
27 peer-reviewed papers published between 2023 and 2026 name the MARC Resin Calibrator in their methods - work from laboratories across Europe, North America, and the Middle East. That record belongs to the platform, and upgrading extends it rather than ending it: the Light Collector is the same measurement lineage with wider reach, and a growing published record of its own.
Two European university laboratories completed the RC → LC upgrade in 2026. If your lab publishes with a MARC instrument, name the instrument and model in your methods - it keeps your work discoverable and your measurements attributable.

Tell us your RC serial number and institution and we'll return a formal quote, shipping included. The upgrade is performed at our facility; support and chargeable calibration remain available for Resin Calibrators that stay in service - upgrading is a path, not an ultimatum.
Tell us your RC serial number and what you're measuring, and we'll confirm the upgrade scope, timing, and a quote for your institution.
